I posted not too long ago about the Princess Jasmine Limited Edition Collection by Sephora that is due out sometime March 2013. I recieved my "Storylook Eyeshadow Palette" in the mail today. When I say these colors blew me away!!! Even the packaging is remarkable!!
This collection is so pretty, my fiancé (who hates makeup btw) suggested I buy an extra set just to have. I can't wait to use it!! Even though I kinda don't want to mess with it because it is so pretty. But enough of me rambling, check out these pics. If you would like swatches leave me a comment below. Eyeshadow colors starting at the bottom left to right: Blue Oasis, Trust Me, Abu, Ali Ababwa, Sultana, Friend Like Me, Master, Cosmic, Cave if Wonders, Sand in the Glass, Lapis, Mystical Wonder, Rajah, Arabian Sunset, Bazaar. Blush/Bronzer: Thrilling Chase & Golden Sands. Cosmetics can become very expensive. Well for me anyway. I don't have much luck with drugstore products. I do use Loreal's liquid eyeliner and mascara, Maybelline's mascara and 24 hour Color Tattoo (THEE best eye products EVER) and different lip balms here and there. But when it comes to my face, I never have good luck. The foundations look like colored oil on my face and just melt off and the primers are terrible. I applaud people who can find a use a drugstore primer or foundation. Mines ALWAYS look terrible. I wanted to find a brand that wasn't the usual $20+ per product. I test out many products (some sent to me or given to me free and some paid for by me), and those that I purchase co$t. I was going through my lipstick collection and came across a NYX lipstick (Narcissus). BTW their lipsticks are $4!! Can't beat that! I decided to go to their website and see what other products they have that I was interested in. I ended up ordering a few items. I ordered like 1 item from every category (well maybe not EVERY one, but you get the gist) to try them out to tell you guys about them and for future references. Nude Matte EyeshadowDance the Tides (warm brown)- $5 The quality is great. I can't wait to order more! Jumbo Eye PencilThe infamous "Milk" (white)-$4.50 Everyone raves about this pencil so I had to try it out. I use this as a base on my eyes before I apply an eyeshadow or color tattoo. The white makes colors POP. Slim Lip PencilDolly Pink (bright Barbie pink)- $3.50 You guys probably know by now that I LIVE for a pink lip. This was also my first lip pencil. I'm still getting used to lining my lips. These pencils are awesome. Whenever I decide to stray away from Barbie pink lips, I will order more lip pencils from NYX. Matte LipstickSummer Breeze (clean blue toned pink)- $6 I LOVE this color!! I pair it with the Dolly Pink lip liner. IlluminatorNarcissistic- $9 This is like a shimmery gold toned color. It is referred to as a blush. I used it as a highlighter. This is the only product I am disappointed with. Doesn't really give me that glow I thought it would. Matte BronzerDark Tan- $9 Click the "Review" tab to see my thoughts on this product =) Mega Shine Lip GlossLa~La (shimmery neutral pink)- $5.50 I LOVE this color!! The description says neutral, but it's just a regular pinky pink. Does that make sense? LOL Powder BlushPinky (matte pink)- $6 This is like the ultimate Barbie pink blush!! I am in LOVE! I want to order 5 more of this same blush just in case they stop making it LOL!!! Overall I am happy with my purchase and can't wait to purchase more items from them! NYX is definitely my go to cosmetic line for inexpensive quality items. Next time, I think I will order it from Ulta or go to Ulta personally to pick some new things out because that shipping was terribly slow.
Comment below and tell me your favorite NYX items! Or if you have another drugstore brand that you like, feel free to comment and share! With Spring around the corner, it's time to prepare ourselves for the new trends of the season! Spring has always been one of my favorite season because of all the fresh flowers, pastel colors, and weather (not too hot, not too cold). Even though I am the person that wears brights and pastels all year long, there is nothing like NEW seasonal colors. I have done some reading, digging, and prodding to bring you guys the trends for the Spring. Enjoy! NailsI love nail polish. Painted nails are like an accessory to me and I can make certain colors go with EVERY color. So for the Spring, the nail trend will be: BOLD BRIGHTS. Fun right? I love bright colors from clothes, shoes, lipstick, jewelry to nails. Bright is always "in" in my book. Try brilliant colors like: coral, fuchsia, pink, oxblood (yes it is following us into another season), purples, black and white. Whichever color or style you decide, just make sure it's BOLD and BRIGHT. Bright LipsI think this trend will be my personal favorite. I wear a bright lip on a regular basis. So this Spring, be prepared to rock your favorite BRIGHT lip. From pinks, oranges, purples and reds your possibilities will be endless. I personally LOVE a pink lip, preferably a light/bright pink lip, but if it is pink I will wear it no matter the shade. I also like red when I am feeling sexy lol. Make sure, when you are rocking your bright lip, to do minimal eye and face makeup. This will be sure to make your bright lips POP! Fresh CheeksI don't know about you guys, but my Summer makeup staple is bronzer. I love that tanned and glowy look. One of Spring 2013's trend calls for fresh cheeks. Try a rose powder blush, light diffusing highlighter and a bronzer. Urban Decay has a palette that has all 3 in 1! It is the "Naked Flush Palette" $30. I have been eyeing this for a while and I may have a reason to buy it now lol. If you don't want to spend $30, Physician's Formula has GREAT bronzers, blushes and highlighters. They also have the "Shimmer Strips" where it covers everything I named. Just grabbed a kabuki brush, dab it in the palette and brush lightly on your face. I LOVE Physician's Formula products. You can buy their products from Target and Walmart. I'm sure other stores carry them, but I only know of these 2. Smoky EyesOh how I love a good ol' smoky eye. I just mastered (well maybe not mastered, but you get my point) the smoky eye and I try to only wear it on special occasions. LOL (ok that one really made me laugh). If I could I would wear a smoky eye EVERYDAY. Just smoked out for no reason. LOOOOL!! Try a smoky eye using silver, bronze or gold and black liner. Metal color eyes are a YES! An easy way to do a smoky eye is by using, Maybelline's Color Tattoo. Thank me later. These little pots are sent STRAIGHT from heaven. With a smoky eye, stay away from a bold lip. Try nudes and light pinks and red is always an addition to this sensual look. I typically will do a red lip with a plain winged liner, but that is me. Pair a smoky eye with a sleek ponytail. Due to be released in March 2013, Sephora will debut it's Princess Jasmine makeup collection! This collection has me so excited! I am a die hard Disney Princess fan (yes even at my adult age). Around Christmas time, Sephora released the Cinderella collection which was very soft and pretty. I wasn't too interested in the palettes, but I wanted the compact mirror that was apart of the collection. I went to a Sephora one day to look at the collection and I swear by the next day it was sold out! So I told myself I wasn't going to let this collection pass me up. By the way, these collections are limited edition, so once it's sold out THAT'S IT. I received an email from Sephora today informing me (because I am a Beauty VIP) that The Jasmine Collection was available for purchase online!!! I immediately texted Kenny (like he cares lol) to tell him! Then once I signed in to my Sephora app (yes it's that serious) on my Iphone 5 and seen the collection I was BEYOND excited!! Almost as excited as I was when I read about MAC's collection for Rihanna, but that's another post LOL. So you guys know I had to order what I wanted right!?
